Conon Bridge Station Takes Step Closer
HITRANS welcomes the Transport Minister’s decision HITRANS is delighted to have received confirmation of £96000 towards the design of Conon Bridge Station from Transport Minister Keith Brown. HITRANS has already earmarked £20000. This will now enable development work to be carried out by Network Rail to take it to a ‘ready to go to tender stage’. Highland Council have allocated £100000 towards access and car parking.
HITRANS Chairman Councillor Duncan MacIntyre said “This is very good news indeed, and gets this low-cost project on track. It has
planning permission and all timetabling work has been carried out. We look forward to working with partners to identifying funding for the next phase- the construction of the station. It is good to see Scottish Government again putting money into Highland rail services”
