Highlands and Islands Community
and Voluntary Transport Forum

Shortly after the establishment of the statutory HITRANS we  helped establish the Highlands and Islands Community and Voluntary Transport Forum.  This formalised the existing strong links in place across the third sector transport providers in the Highlands and Islands and the very positive work of the Community Transport Association in Scotland.

The object of the Forum is to promote recognition of the voluntary and community transport sector, to encourage training, good practice and sharing of ideas among the community transport forums already established in each constituent local authority area. In furtherance of this the Forum has the opportunity to provide advice to HITRANS in the development and implementation of the Regional Transport Strategy.
